Jason Burik

I started building with Lego blocks at the age of 7.  One day I decided to try a more challenging endeavor.  I took apart all of my building sets and constructed a model of my parent's home using the blueprints.  The finished project was not only self-rewarding but also appreciated by family and friends.

I now build replica models of sports stadiums, residential homes, public buildings, landmarks, signs, logos and much more.  Many companies and individuals around the country have commissioned me to build models to display in their offices and homes.

While majoring in Elementary Education and playing Division I. Basketball at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, UMBC, I constructed models of the Baltimore Raven's Stadium and Camden Yards.  Before building a replica stadium I enjoy visiting the ballpark to learn its unique history.  I usually take between 50-75 photos using a digital camera.  I then begin the building process using the pictures as a reference.

The next progression was to teach these skills to others.  Thus began the concept of Building Camps.  Lego blocks give students the opportunity to construct, learn, and grow in rewarding ways.  I am currently an Elementary School Principal in the Montour School District located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Building with Lego blocks gives students hands-on experiences integrating math, language arts, computer technology, social studies, graphic arts, architecture, and engineering skills.
